2024 Ford Mustang

Overview
America's love affair with the Mustang continues into 2024 with nine models for fans of the iconic pony car. This seventh-generation muscle car may have gotten a bit of a makeover for 2024, but there's no question that the familiar Mustang styling is intact. Prospective buyers can expect to find reworked chassis hardware, along with a completely updated interior. But the changes are not just surface-deep. Drivers of the 2024 Ford Mustang will be able to saddle up with the choice of two new powertrains, both with a 10-speed automatic transmission, although the V8 version also has an available six-speed manual transmission. Mustang owners can continue to choose between hardtop and convertible, but the updated cockpit and more powerful engine are going to thrill Mustang fans.
Who's It For
Ask a Mustang enthusiast why they chose to drive the last true pony car, and they'll likely tell you because it's fun to drive. Mustang owners know it's not about the destination; it's all about the journey. Mustangs are typically driven by owners who have big personalities and enjoy the attention that a Mustang attracts. The 2024 Ford Mustang, like those before it, is not for carpooling or hauling around kids and their gear. The Mustang is for the car owner who prizes power over roominess.

What's New for 2024
The 2024 Ford Mustang comes into its seventh generation with a brand-new design, from style tweaks to major powertrain changes. Both the EcoBoost and GT trims now feature an optional Performance Pack equipment upgrade, including a front strut tower brace, wider wheels, and tires, a MagneRide® active-dampening suspension, bigger Brembo brakes, and a Torsen limited-slip differential. Also highlighting 2024 are optional Recaro bucket seats as well as an active exhaust. An optional performance electronic parking brake designed to make the Mustang easier to drift is also new for 2024. The brand-new Mustang Dark Horse trim makes its debut in 2024, offering a 500-horsepower Coyote V8 engine.
Real World Performance
The latest generation Mustang starts with a turbocharged 315-horsepower 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine delivering 350 lb.-ft. of torque, a 5-horsepower upgrade to the base model for 2024. The EcoBoost trims come with a 10-speed automatic transmission standard, while the GT model features a 5.0-liter V8 with a six-speed manual transmission standard.
Even the Coyote V8 gets an upgrade for the latest generation, delivering an additional 60 horsepower, but Ford also offers an optional performance exhaust that can boost output to 486 horsepower and 481 lb.-ft. of torque. Reminiscent of the recently retired Mach 1 and the discontinued Shelby GT350, the all-new Dark Horse trim offers Mustang enthusiasts the ultimate performance with a 500-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine.
